-What was your first convention, and what made it memorable?
Anime North 2007, I was so overwhelmed by the amount of people and all the nerdy stuff in the dealer’s room. Also my first time cosplaying.

-What’s your favourite convention experience to this day?
Hard to choose just one. Every shoot I’ve ever done, every con party, every celebrity I’ve met, every friend I’ve made.

-Any advice to people just getting started in the cosplay world?
Start small, budget your money and time appropriately, YouTube tutorials are your friend. Don’t worry about not getting your costume done in time or it not being perfect, there’s always next time. Stay hydrated and make sure your costume fits in your luggage/doorways/elevators/escalators and seal your body paint.

-Any advice to people just getting started in the cosplay world?
Do what you want and don’t let people tell you different but respect that there are groups out there who take that further and have earned that (501st Legion/Rebel Legion,) but that shouldn’t discourage anybody from carving a place of your own.

-Any advice to people just getting started in the cosplay world?
My advice to new cosplayers is to look up tutorials online. Utilize youtubes in depth tutorials. Some are very specific and how exactly how to make certain props. Aswell as just messaging cosplyers on their cosplay pages. Most cosplayers I know will offer advice.

-What’s your favourite convention experience to this day?
Cosplays Ruby and Sapphire from Steven Universe. The show was experiencing it’s first popularity boom, and me and my friend walked into the panel for the show just as the characters theme song was being sung by the crowd. Everyone turned around when we entered and cheered, it was super surreal.

-Any advice to people just getting started in the cosplay world?
Don’t be afraid to cheat a bit. Hot glue a seam, buy a t-shirt and modify it. Your skills will improve with practice and time, so don’t expect miracles at the beginning.
